Mr. Hanchey was born and reared in Caldwell parish. He moved to Shreveport and for many years was employed in the Shreveport post office. Later, he was transferred to the El Paso post office, where he had served for fifteen years.
Besides his widow he leaves one son, Ernest, Jr., of El Paso; five daughters, Mrs. T. H. Smith, Mrs. W. H. Anders, Mrs. Mildred Middleton and Miss Ernestine Hanchey of Shreveport and Mrs. C. C. Dunn of Grayson; and three brothers, H. L. Hanchey of Pollock, M. R. Hanchey of Little Rock, Ark., and Willie Hanchey of Los Angeles, Calif.
Pallbearers were Dr. S. G. Hines of Clarks, W. S. Howell, Ernest Cruse and Ellis McDaniel of Kelly, T. L. Sorrells of Grayson and I. B. Gilliham of Olla.

ERNEST W. HANCHEY, 58, of Camp DeLuxe died Wednesday morning at a local Sanatorium. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Alta Hanchey and a son, Ernest, of El Paso, 5 daughters, one brother and one sister. The remains will be shipped to Columbia, Louisiana Wednesday night by the Peak-Hagedon Mortuary.
