Dora was born in Kansas near the Oklahoma border to Mary Elizabeth (Fowler) and William J Hays. Her family migrated from Kansas, to Colorado, to Idaho, before settling in Washington. While living in Idaho, Dora married first to Arthur Thomas Livengood in Nez Perce County, Idaho on 18 Feb 1902. They had two sons and a daughter: Arlie, who was born in 1904 in Nez Perce County, Idaho, and died in 1922 in Nampa, Canyon, Idaho; Harry E was born 6 Dec 1909 in Nez Perce County, Idaho and died on 9 Apr 1913 in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho; and Neva who was born in 15 Jul 1913 in Nez Perce County, Idahoa and died 27 Aug 1915 in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho. The couple divorced prior to 1920 and Arthur remarried in 1924. Dora remarried between 1930 and 1940 to a widower, Austin Wray McCoy. In 1940, they lived in Linden, Latah, Idaho. Austin died in 1941. Dora A (Hays)(Livengood) McCoy died 11 Dec 1972 at the age of 92 in Clarkston, Asotin, Washington.
