Arthur Thomas Livengood was born in Topeka, Kansas on 28 Jan 1879. Most of his adult life he lived in Nez Perce County, Idaho. Although his residence was in Lewiston, Idaho, he died in Whitman County, Washington on 20 May 1946 at the age of 67.
He was the son of John Livengood, who was born in French Lick, Orange, Indiana in 1854, and Emma Ann Ferguson who was born in Holden, Johnson, Missouri in 1857. He married Dora A Hays on 18 Feb 1902 in Nez Perce County, Idaho. They had three children: Arlie born 1904 and died 1922; Harry E born 1909 and died 1913; and Neva Irine born 1913 and died 1915. Harry and Neva share the same headstone. Arthur and Dora had divorced by 1920 and Arthur married Mrs Julia E Arthurs (nee Ross) on 18 Nov 1924 in Latah County, Idaho. It is unknown what became of Julia after 1930, but Arthur married Margaret Elizabeth Clay in 1942. It was the third marriage for both.
Until 1910, Arthur was a farmer but then he became deputy county assessor and later became the county assessor for Nez Perce County, Idaho. He then worked in the court house at Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho, probably in the land deed section, until his death.
Vineland Cemetery administration said that Arthur had purchased the deed for 12 burial graves but only four were used. Dora (Hays)(Livengood) McCoy occupied one when she died in 1972. Administration said "her husband" was buried next to her. This has to be Arthur, since Dora's second husband, Austin W McCoy, was buried in 1941 in Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. The children, Harry and Neva shared one, and Arlie must be buried in the 4th.
