RAYMOND E. BLANKINSHIP, 81, CLARKSTON RETIREE

Raymond Earnest Blankinship, a retired farmer, and rancher and Clarkston resident, died of pneumonia Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston. He was 81. He was born Oct. 28, 1911, at Lewiston to Samuel E. Blankenship and Cordelia (Cable) Blankinship.

He was raised near Peola, Wash., where he attended the Pleasant Ridge School.

He and Arvella McEachen were married on June 20, 1939,
in Lewiston. They farmed and raised sheep, cattle, and grain crops in the Silcott area near Clarkston, in the Peola area, and at St. Maries, Idaho.

He was a member of the Valley Christian Church at Lewiston, the Washington Cattlemen's Association, and the Wheat Growers Association and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and activities with his family.

Survivors include his wife at Clarkston; a daughter, Velda Daggett of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Steve Blankinship of Yakima and Ted Blankinship of Clarkston; two brothers, Jim Blankinship of Enterprise, Ore., and Murph Blankinship of Clarkston, and eight grandchildren.

A brother, Richard L. Blankinship, died previously.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Merchant Funeral Home at Clarkston with the Rev. Ron King of Zion's Gate Christian Fellowship at Lewiston officiating.

After the funeral, the burial will be held at Clarkston's Vineland Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Washington State Lung Association, 1515 Dexter Ave. N., Third Floor, Seattle, Wash. 98109.
