Mrs. Irwin Is Called Home

Funeral rites for Mrs. Agnes Brown Irwin, 67, will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the First Methodist church by Dr. P.D. Wilson. Burial under direction of Brown's will follow in City cemetery.

Mrs. Irwin died at the Baugh-Wiley clinic about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. She had been seriously ill for about three weeks.

The deceased is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Cecil Timberlake, Mrs. Louise Stinson and Mrs. O.M. Tucker, all of Decatur. Also surviving are four sons, Sam D. Irwin of Birmingham; Phillip A. Irwin, U.S. Army; D.W. Irwin Jr, Birmingham; and R.B. Irwin of Washington, D.C.

Other immediate survivors include a brother, H.M. Brown of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. S.M. Lyon of Greenville and Mrs. T.H. Williams of Birmingham and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Irwin was born in Greene County, Tennessee. However, she lived most of her life in Decatur. She was a member of First Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will include: Malcolm Austell, Julian Harris, L.C. Buchanan, Ed Timberlake, Ed Price and Marvin Dinsmore.

AGNES BROWN IRWIN, 67, of 507 Line St. Decatur, died February 7, 1950, at Baugh Hospital. She was born January 18, 1882, in Greene County, Tenn. She was a widow. Her parents were A.J. Brown and Agnes Wiles.

Burial was in Decatur City Cemetery, Brown directing.

Cause of death: Cancer
