Mrs. Edna Shelton Shaffer, 91, of Sandy Ridge died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the Nursing Center of Oak Summit in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Shaffer was born Dec. 16, 1913, in Virginia, a daughter of Samuel Shelton and Jennie Hundley Shelton.
She retired from Washington Mills with more than 40 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Aten Shaffer; a son, David Lee Shaffer; two sisters; and seven brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Ayersville Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Doug Byrd and the Rev. Joe Pizzno of Kernersville officiating.
Interment will follow at Buffalo Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ayersville Baptist Church, 310 N.C. 770, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046; Buffalo Family Cemetery, c/o Juanita Joyce, 1693 N.C. 770, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046; and Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
