MADISON, Sept. 9--John Clingmond Shaffer, 63, died at his home on Route 1, Sandy Ridge at 6 p. m. Tuesday after an illness of one year. Funeral will be held Thursday at 2:30 p. m. at Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church by Elders Ed Priddy and Coy Mabe. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Josie Amos Shaffer; one daughter, Mrs. Orell Amos of Route 1, Sandy Ridge; two grandchildren; three brothers, Esserland Shaffer of Winston-Salem, and Otis and Guy Shaffer, both of Sandy Ridge; and two sisters, Mrs. john Joyce and Mrs, Orilla Brown, both of Route 1, Sandy Ridge.
