"The funeral of Charles Emmett Buck, long a resident of this county, was held Wednesday afternoon, April 18, from Simmons-Olliff mortuary with Rev. A. E. Grothaus officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery by the side of his wife who died less than a year ago.
"Charles Emmett Buck, son of the Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Emmett Buck, was born August 31, 1877 in Cloud County, Kansas, and passed away at Blue Springs, Nebraska, April 15, 1951, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 15 days.
"He came to Smith County, Kansas, when about 18 years of age, and with his parents settled on a farm.
"He was united in marriage with Rosa Anna Gardner on February 12, 1899. Four children, one son and three daughters, were born to this union, Lee Buck of Smith Center, Kansas, Mrs. Pearl Bernard, Emmett, Idaho, and Mrs. Florence Baker and Mrs. Lola Baker, both of Blue Springs, Nebraska.
"Mr. Buck was preceded in death by is faithful wife on May 16, 1950."...obituary notice.
