Funeral services for Wayne Lester Baer, 73 will be held at 10 a.m. at Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman. Mr. Baer died Aug 12, 1999, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Baer was born Nov. 7, 1925, in rural Chapman, the son of Henry and Celma Hanney Baer. He attended Fragrant Hill Grade School and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1943. He farmed the family farm in rural Chapman.
He was married to A. Nadine Lyon on March 18, 1950 at the Alida Church . They farmed in rural Junction City for 36 years. Mr. Baer served as a board member for Alida Co-op, Chapman School District, Dickinson County Agricultural Soil Conservation, Fragrant Hill Township and Dickinson County Zoning Committee and was a past member of the Chapman Lion's Club. He was a member of the Alida Upland Cooperative Parish.
Mr. Baer is survived by his wife, Nadine, of their home in rural Chapman: and three sons, Karl Baer of rural Chapman, Warren Baer of Junction City, and Kendell Baer of Junction City. He is preceded in death by a daughter in-law. Donna Baer, two sisters, Fern Smith and Glenna Underhill: and three brothers, Virgil, Marlin and Lloyd.
