She was born Aug. 19, 1916, the daughter of Pulaski and Viola (Strong) Crowder at Hot Springs, Ark., where she attended school.
On Aug. 12, 1932, she married Vernon Hall in Arkansas, and they moved to Washington state in 1939. They have three children, Vernon Wayne Hall of Richland, Carolyn Ruth Tupling of Spokane and Mary Louise Taber of Brewster. He preceded her in death in December of 1951.
Winnie owned and operated "Winnie's Cafe" on Highway 97 in Brewster for many years. She was known for her generosity, and she never turned anyone in need of food away regardless of their circumstances. Winnie was named Business Woman of the Year on Nov. 10, 1977.
She married Keith Stuart at Las Vegas, Nev., in 1967. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Winnie was a member of the Community Log Church at Brewster.
She is survived by her three children; two brothers, Roy Bumgarner of Libby, Mont., and Bob Bumgarner of Richland; five sisters, Fronie Sanchez of Clarksdale, Ariz., Ruth Scroggin of Hot Springs, Ark., Helen Adams of Riverside, Melba Astorquia of Brewster and Joy Peterson of East Wenatchee; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and two sisters, Onedia Spice and Donnie Crowder.
Services are under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
