Helen M. Adams, 80, of Riverside, WA passed away August 20, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. She was born November 11, 1925, to Haywood and Viola Gray of Leola, AR. After living her early years in Arkansas, she moved to Washington State and worked as a riveter during World War II. She later moved to Brewster, WA where she worked as a waitress for her sister in Winnie's Cafe. She married Del Adams and they raised a daughter and a son while living in California, East Wenatchee and Entiat. In 1978, they moved to Riverside and raised Arabian horses. Helen lived with her son, Mike from 1994, until the time of her death. She loved growing flowers, going fishing and the Seattle Seahawks.

She was a longtime member of the Okanogan Valley Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her daughter, Jonette and son-in-law, Robert Bakity of Hobbs, NM, her son, Mike Adams of Riverside; her sisters, Melba Astorquia of Brewster, Ruth Scroggin of Little Rock, AR, Joy Peterson of East Wenatchee, Fronia Sanchez of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Roy Bumgardner of Libby, MT and Bob Bumgardner of Richland, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by both of her parents; and sisters, Oneida Spice and Winnie Stewart. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Tucker and nurse "Susan" of the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center.

There will be a public visitation from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the Precht-Harrison-Nearants Chapel in Okanogan. The Funeral Service will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006, at the Okanogan Valley Church of the Nazarene in Okanogan. There will be a procession after the service going to the Evergreen Memorial Park located in East Wenatchee where the Interment will take place.

Precht-Harrison-Nearants Funeral Service Directors have been entrusted with the arrangements.
