WALLACE MINNICK DIES AT BROADWAY
Dean of outdoor sportsman and well known blacksmith to be buried today.
Broadway, Feb. 13.
Funeral services for Wallace B. Minnick, retired blacksmith and ardent hunter and fisherman, will be held Saturday afternoon from the Broadway Methodist Church, friends meeting at the home at two o'clock. Rev. A.J. Ponton, assisted by, Rev. I. W. Miller and S. B. Houghton, will officiate.
Interment will be at Linville Creek.
Mr. Minnick who was 73 years o£ age, worked as a blacksmith until
declining health forced him to retire.
Just as he did when younger, Mr. Minnick, In his later years, spent
much of his time hunting and fishing and was considered the dean of outdoor sportsmen in this section.
Death last night followed a stroke of paralysis three weeks ago, and Mr. Minnick had been confined to his bed since his last attack.
Mr. Minnick was a son of the late William and Dolly Brock Minnick, and was born here Jan. 12, 1852.
Besides his widow who was Miss. Sarah Dove, there survives: Two sons Walter P, of West Virginia and Grovor L., of Connelsville, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles K. Landis of near Harrisonburg, and
Mrs. John Comer, of Piketon, Ohio, two sisters Mrs. Virginia Orebaugh, of Richmond, and Mrs. Charles L. Evans, of Kearneysville, W. Va., also a grandson Chester Litten who was reared by Mr. & Mrs. Minnick.
Two children—Mrs. Russell Litten and George Minnick died the same day during the flu epidemic in 1918.
