James A. Bookout
Funeral services for James Andrew Bookout, 75, were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the chapel of the Nelson Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Rev. Stanley Jordan, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Springdale, officiated. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Services for Mr. Bookout were held jointly with those for his granddaughter, Janice Lee Bookout, infant daughter of of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Bookout. Mr. Bookout died Friday, December 16, at his home, route 4, Springdale, after an illness of three years. He was born December 18, 1873, in Sebastian County, and had lived in Sprindale community for 12 years, moving here from Johnson. He was a farmer and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Belle Bookout of the home, Five sons, Sterling, Earl, Ralph, Roy and Lloyd, all of Springdale; a daughter, Pearl of Springdale; three brothers, Charlie Bookout of Springdale, Tom Bookout of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Bob Bookout of Purcell, Okla; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Gaskin of Fort Smith and Mrs. Lizzie Sutton of Lindsey, Okla., and five grandchildren.
