Edward was the fourth of seven children born to Marshall Monroe and Nancy Marie (Moose) Plummer. He married Frances E. Sawyer and they were the parents of one son: Larry.

Mr. Edward Louis Plummer 77, of 2800 Holt St. died Dec. 28, 1991, at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spencer Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member of 42 years. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hankins, Whittington & Williams-Dearborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Plummer, a Mooresville native, retired in 1975 as a City of Charlotte landfill supervisor, after 32 years. At his church, he was a member of Methodist Men and the O.G. Nelson Men's Bible class, and the class's treasurer.
Survivors are his wife, Frances; son, Larry Plummer; brothers, Henry Plummer of Chester, Jack Plummer; sisters, Mrs. Ethelyn Fite of Huntersville, Mrs. Sarah Fowler of Gaffney, S.C., Mrs. Margaret Wheeler of Landrum, S.C.; two grandchildren.
