Tuesday, 24 July 1951 obituary, The Daily Times, New Philadelphia, Ohio, page 14: Sarah L. Ellwood. 84, 519 Grant st., Dennison, died at her home at 9:05 last night. Death was due to coronary thrombosis. She had been ill since Wednesday. Born at Gilmore August 10, 1866, she was the daughter of James and Martha Parrish Postal. She was a resident of Dennison most of her life and was a member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church there. On July 4. 1885. she was married to Jacob Ellwood who died March 17, 1935. Three children, John Ellwood, Hazel Mohn, and Pearl Dewey, are deceased. Surviving are six grandchildren including Robert Cohen, Route 2, Uhrichsville, and Don Cohen of the home, thirteen great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Ricket, Detroit, Michigan and one brother, Lemuel Postel, Anamosa, Iowa. Ten brothers and sisters are (deceased). Funeral arrangements are in charge of the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the residence with the Rev. Earl Guthrie and the Rev. Eugene Buxton, Wooster, officiating. Burial will be in the Port Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the home.
