Eula Allio
In the USA she is known as Allio but her real Italian name was Aiello. Not a relation at all to the Italian Allio family's. One story is told about how the school couldn't understand my grandfathers broken English and wrote his name incorrectly. My grandfather could not read nor write in Italian or English, so he either didn't understand the change or he thought that is what they do here. I don't know if he realized what a change it was nor how to fix it in those days. However, I believed it happened some other way, because (without seeing birth certificates) each child was born with the name. Whatever happened he did not give up his name by choice unless... in those days... there was a time that Italians were being killed for taking the Jobs from the Americans living here and working in the Coal mines which is what he did. If he kept the name change it could have been to save his family. He did not give up his name.

The man in this photo is Charles Hunt known as CH in his day. I am looking for any relations to this man. He came from Georgia as far as we know from my brothers birth certificate and was a carpenter at the time. Looking for the Hunt family related to him. Contact me if you have photo's of him in your family tree some where. He and My mother were married I expect in 1950 or 1951 sometime since my brother was born in 1952. Any help is appreciated.

My mother Eula on the left her sister Esther on the right. They always looked like twins but they were a few years apart Esther was older.
Mom is 9 months pregnant here with my oldest brother Gerald.
She was so small you could hardly tell.

This is the Center of Pound, Va. it was taken many years ago with a poor camera. Haven't been back there to take a better one. Mom grew up here.

Mom in the middle in pink pants. She is with most of her family and one friend who is in the red shirt on the left from her.
My sister sylvia is on the far right. brother Jim left, sister Ethel in blue shirt, next to mom is her sister Aileen, next to Aileen is sister n law mabel (husband is Ayers) in red shirt, behind mabel brother Joe Jr, next to Joe brother Ayers. Striped shirt brother n law Burl husband to Aileen.
