POLK CITY -- Mr. Miguel Chairez of Polk City died of cancer Monday (Aug. 28, 2006) in Auburndale. He was 75.
Born in Del Rio, Calif., on Jan. 4, 1931, he came to Polk City from Texas in 1988. He was a chef and retired from Hilton Hotels.
Mr. Chairez is survived by his wife, Rosa Chairez; stepson, Miguel Chairez, Chicago; daughters, Teresa Chairez, Mexico, Soledad Benites, Luz Ramirez and Esmeralda Cifuntes, all of Haines City, Olga Chairez, Winter Haven, Cecilia Chairez, Dundee, Celia Vasquez, Lake Alfred; brother, Rodolfo Chairez, Mexico; sisters, Maria Chairez, Raquel Chairez and Soledad Chairez, all of Mexico, Teresa Chairez, El Paso, Texas, Guerra Chairez; and 17 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
