He enlisted 11-16-1942 in the Army & served during WW II in many parts of the Pacific

Theodore A Vosburg, 87, of Hobbie, Pa, died Sat. Nov 3, 2007 at the Davis Manor Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past 14 months.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of Mary (Holliday) & John Henry Vosburg. One of 13 children, he was raised & went to school in Harding. He was a member of St Peter's U.C. Church, Hobbie & the VFW Post 8227, Nescopeck.
He was a man of his word, a good father, husband, & family man. He proudly served his country along with three brothers in WW II with the 24th Infantry Division & served in New Guinea, southern Philippines, Pago Pago, Japan, Australia, & Hawaii. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, & the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars.
He worked in the local mines for over 10 years, the Luzerne Hide & Tallow Co for 10 years, Brown Motors as an auto mechanic, then as a diesel mechanic for International Trucking, & retired from LaBar Motors.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Vann; seven children; Robert & his wife, Mary Lucy of Hobbie, Karen Barber Vosburg of Rio Rancho, N.M., Sharon Pfieffer & her husband, Bill of Mine Hill, N.J., Mary Alice Vosburg Grega of Slocum Township, Kathy Jane Vosburg Moyer & her companion, Larry Bunevitch of Nanticoke, Theodore Vosburg II & his wife, Dana of Mifflinville, & Brian K Vosburg of McAdoo; 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters; Caroline Shiffer of Ashboro, N.C. & Jane Cicon & her husband, John of Utah; brothers, Curtis Vosburg of Frenchtown & Elmer Vosburg & his wife, Faye of San Antonio, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Heller Funeral Home, 633 Third St, Nescopeck. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith & Action Fund of the St Peter's U.C. Church, 612 W Country Rd, Wapwallopen, Pa, 18660
