Man Stricken Fatally On Public Square
Croy Is Victim Of Heart Attack
Benjiman Ray Croy, 68, was stricken with a heart attack this morning and died at 10:35am on the Public Square.
The Fire Department emergency truck was called to the scene near the Citizen's Bank and Trust on the corner of Fifth and College Avenue.
Firemen administered oxygen for a time with no visible result. The victim was pronounced dead and removed to Greene and Harrell Funeral Home. The body will remain there pending funeral arrangements.
Former House Mover
Croy resided at 104 1/2 Fifth Street. a former house mover, he had been employed for years at the Eagle Home here. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge and a Veteran of World War I.
He is survived by a brother, Elmer Croy, 1001 Plamer Avenue: and a half-sister, Mrs. Hattie Van Slyke, a Monroe County resident.

Funeral rites for Benjiman Ray Cray, 68, who died of a heart attack on the Public Square Friday morning, will be conducted at 10 am Monday in the Greene and Harrell Chapel. Rev. W. C. Chafin will conduct services. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the Greene and Harrell Funeral Home until the time of the services.
Members of the Eagle Lodge will serve as active pallbearers. Croy, a member of the lodge, was employed at Eagle Home here the last several years. He lived at 104 1/2 East Fifth Street.
