Obituary in unknown newspaper, 3 Jul 1962: Funeral services for Joe Tedder, 62, a retired farmer who died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at the residence on U.S. Highway 201, North, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Beaver Creek Baptist Church, near Neeses. The Rev. A. M. Howze and the Rev. Mr. Price will officiate. Burial, directed by the Thompson Funeral Home, will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the residence until time for the services. Mr. Tedder was a son of the late Joseph and Crozier Gleaton Tedder of Orangeburg County. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Lottie Tager Tedder; six daughters, Mrs. Hiram Courtney and Mrs. Sylvester New, both of Orangeburg, Mrs. W. R. Nettles of West Columbia, Mrs. Robert Matthews of Johnsonville, Mrs. Earl Joyner of Eastover, and Mrs. Marshall Walling of Columbia; two sons, Levy Tedder of Orangeburg, and Harvey Tedder of West Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Williamson of Springfield; a brother, Kesse Tedder Gleaton of Springfield, 33 grandchildren and eight great granchildren. Pallbearers will be Hiram Courtney Jr., Johnny Tedder, James Nettles, Daniel Williamson, Duck Felder and James Williams.
