Albert Tilden Monroe was born on January 29,1876 in San Saba Texas to Andrew J. Monroe and Eliza (Harris) Monroe. He was a True Legend and a Real Cowboy in his time. He rode a horse all his life, and loved living in the Woods. He enjoyed living in Indian Territory near Hugo Oklahoma in his younger days. He had alot of friends, and was a Man Of His Word. He married Annie Mae Slaton in Hunter Oklahoma,Indian Territory in 1917.
He died on March 26,1961 in Wichita Falls,Texas. He was 85 years old. Survivors Include 2 Sons: Walter(Monroe)Chain,and Charlie(Monroe)Chain, both of Wichita Falls,Texas. Three Brothers Include : Jake Monroe of Forestburg, Texas, Boss Monroe of Artesia, New Mexico, and Louis Monroe of Gilliam, Louisiana. Two Sisters Include: Lela Moler of Plainview Arkansas, and Rosie Kitchens of Marietta, Oklahoma. Three Grandchildren, and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was Preceded in Death by his parents, Four Sisters and Six Brothers. Arrangements are under the Direction of Owens & Brumley of Bowie. Services were held March 28,1961 at 2:00pm at New Harp Church, with Brother R.L. Halford Officiating. Burial in New Harp Cemetery, New Harp Texas.
