Andrew Monroe, 64, of Elk CIty, Oklahoma died of a Heart Attack while Bird Hunting with his Brother In-Law in Marietta, OK. He was born on December 29, 1890 in Indian Territory, near Lone Grove, Oklahoma to Andrew Monroe,Sr., and Eliza (Harris) Monroe. He married Eulice Templeton on Nov.1,1914 in Bowie Texas. In his Early days, he taught School in Montague County, near Dry Valley, Denver, and the Old Dewey Community near Forestburg. The Family moved to Shamrock Texas in 1923, and lived there for many years before moving to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1938. Andrew was in the Insurance Business, and a District Representative for Allis Chambers Machinery.
He was a Member of the Masonic Lodge, Order Of Eastern Star and First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Eulice, Two Daughters; Ava Atkinson of Austin, and Wanda McCauley of Murfreesboro, Tenn. One son, Rex Monroe and wife Laverne of Evansville, Indiana. Five Grandchildren and one Great-Grand child. He was preceded in Death by his parents, One son: Pvt.Ray Monroe, killed in WWII.
Four Sisters, and Four Brothers. Funeral Services were held at the First Christian Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Interment was at Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock under the Direction of Clay Funeral Home. Masonic Rites Followed.
