Irish Republican politician. He was an active participant in the Easter Rising of 1916 in Ireland. Harry Boland was Michael Collins' best friend and a member of The Squad during the Black & Tan War. During the Civil War he sided with the anti-treaty forces of the IRA. Unarmed, he was shot and killed in his hotel room by two members of the Free State Army when they went to arrest him.

He was portrayed by the actor, Aidan Quinn, in the movie 'Michael Collins' which starred Liam Neeson.
