SULPHUR — Funeral services for John Ray Ancelet, 77, of Sulphur, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Robison Funeral Home. Deacon Maurice Serice will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery.
Visitation will begin today, April 7, from 3-9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Ancelet passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003, in a local hospital.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1925, in Kaplan. He was a longtime resident of Sulphur. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 3 rd Armored Division. He was a retired sheet metal worker, who enjoyed spending time shrimping and fishing with his family. For those who knew him more affectionately as Pop-a-Doo, he will be missed greatly and loved always.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Grace Sonnier Ancelet of Sulphur; one son, Donald Ray Ancelet of Sulphur; three daughters, Bernadine Wesley and Patricia Drost, both of Sulphur, and Marquette East of Austin, Texas; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jamie Wesley.
