Mary Jane Blackwell Parker was well loved. Her mother was one of five sisters who moved to Louisiana from Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Cinclare Plantation and later moved to what is called, "Tombstone," Port Allen, Louisiana. She was a member of Israelite Baptist Church, Lukeville, LA, pastored by Rev. George C. Pierce.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters; Corinne Washington, Eola Dent Wilson, Fannie Parker Jones, and Mary Favors-Johnson; her sons; Reverend James Washington, George Parker, Sr., Sylvester Dorsey, Sr., Edward Favors, Alton Favors & Lutcher Miller, Jr. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elnora Seals, son, Grant Favors and grandson, Willie Springer.
