Mrs Magalena Kutcher, nee Hall , was born near Franklin, Lee County, Iowa February 12, 1854. She was reared and confirmed in the Evangelical faith, her confirmation having taken place in the Evangelical Church at Franklin on 5th of April 1868.
On the 8th of September , 1872 deceased was united in holy wedlock to Mr. Adam Kutcher. To this union were born 10 children. Six daughters and four sons, of which two daughters and one son (Barbara, Minnie, and Harry) died in 1895.
Her death is mourned by the deeply bereaved husband and the following children: Mrs. Mary Applegate of Kahoka; Mrs. Margaret Wright, of Lewistown, Mo.; Mrs. Katie Wright of Kahoka; Mrs. Phoebe Wahrer of Keokuk: John Kutcher of near Farmington; Adam Kutcher of near Antiock; and Charles G. of Kahoka, and also by a number of grandchildren.
She is furthermore survivied by three brothers, John Hall of Oklahoma; P.D.Hall of Iowa; and George Hall of California.
Her death occurred on Friday May 17th at 11 o'clock a.m. after an illness of about 5 months, her affliction being rheumatism. She reached the age of 58 years, 3 months, and 5 days.
Services were held Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock in St.Paul's church, Rev. W. Bechtold, the paster, officiating in both the German and English language.
Interment took place in St. Paul's cemetery. The following gentlman acted as pallbearer; Geo. Hess, Wm. Schindler, P. Theiss, Hy. Gram, Geo. Mohr, and Chas. Rauscher.
