Jonathan P. Pierce Sr. was the son of William Hector Pearce/Pierce and Elisabeth Molly Cornett Pierce. He was born in Jefferson, NC Ashe Co where his parents and family of 8 other siblings resided at the time. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Asia-Pacific (New Guinea and Philippine Islands).He was married to Verlie "Ellen" Pearman Pierce; formerly of Danville, IL. and left 8 living children and their families behind. He played guitar and sang all his life. He was a devoted Christian husband and father. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. It was said of him that there was barely a church (which he was associated with or attended after his salvation) where he didn't "drive a nail".
