The stories of Ireland, their coming to America on an Immigrant ship, settling first in Illinois, then to Iowa and finally to Nebraska. When we were children we loved to get grandmother to tell of her trip across the Atlantic. She was an orphan girl and came with the Major family as a nursemaid. The family was from County Down. Grandfather David and another son came ahead of the family and got land by Wooster, Ohio. They worked and earned money to send for the rest in 1856.
