Rancher is Burned to Death in Brush
George Oswald, 84-year-old pioneer rancher of Yavapai county was burned to death on the S A D Jackson ranch at Walnut Grove today.
His body, charred almost beyond recognition was found in the center of what had been a brush fire.
Authorities expressed belief he fell asleep after lunch, the blaze starting in the bush where he was resting from coals in his pipe.
The aged man was alone at the time, an employe at the ranch having left earlier in the day to cut corn fodder about a mile away.
Burial will be in the Pioneer cemetery at Walnut Grove Wednesday afternoon.
