He is survived by his wife; 2 stepdaughters and 3 brothers. He is the son of a pioneer family in the Carvel AB area.
Dave enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 and was discharged after the war in 1946. Served in France and Germany. Re-enlisted in 1950 (RCASC), served two years in Korea and 3 years with NATO in Germany, retiring in 1968.
After his military retirement, Dave worked as a longshoreman for the Port of Vancouver retiring at the age of 65. Dave was a long time member of Br# 6 Cloverdale of the Royal Canadian Legion.
