Fay and her twin sister Fern were the last of 8 children born to Otto Alfred Anderson and Eleanor Hacking Anderson. Fay married Lawrence Stanford Briggs on 29 May 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had one son, Leland Stanford Briggs. Below is an excerpt from th John Sampson Hacking Family Bulletin #8-1971, Family News section, which Fay wrote about her family:
Stanford and I are still in the Drug Store and it keeps us busy and very tied down. Last August we were made very happy when our son Leland and Mary, with their four lovely children moved back to Utah from Boulder, Colorado, where he had been practicing medicine. They are now in Provo, and he is practicing with the Central Utah Medical Clinic as a cardiologist. Since moving to Provo, on the 9th of December [1970] they were blessed with another little son, Shawn Sidney. He is such a precious little fellow. Now we have five wonderful grandchildren--three beautiful talented girls, Lezlie 13, Michelle 11, Rebecca, who will soon be eight; and our adorable two little grandsons, Jason Stanford 5 and Shawn 7 months. They are all so busy with church and summer activities, swimming, dancing, music lessons and tennis. We surely love them and are so proud of them. They also have three of the cutest little Poodles -- GiGi, Buffy, and Samantha.
