Mary Pauline Fraser Gaskell was born on a farm south of Rydall, Kansas. She attended School in the Highland DIst and graduated from Norway High School. She worked in Concordia, KS where she met Floyd Mercer. They married in 1944. After he returned from the war they moved to Albion, MI. They later divorced, Later she married Herb Gaskell in October of 1962. He preceeded her in death.
