Donald was the son of Edwin Percy and Jennie (Bowling) Fraser. He attended Highland Grade, which was a one room school in the country. Hr graduated from Norway High School, Norway, Kansas in 1933. He attended business school in Grand Island, NE, where he met Wilma Winkler. They were married April 14, 1940. Donald was a WW II Veteran - US Army Air Corps.
In August 1948 their family was completed when Gregory Lynn Fraser was adopted.
In 1952 Donald went to work for the Federal Housing Administration and lived in Grand Island while he appraised properties throughout the state. The family spent several months in Washington D C. In 1960, he was promoted to the Omaha office, so the family moved to Ralston. Don retired as the chief of productions from HUD in 1973. Don and Wilma retired to Lincoln, NE,. Winters were spent in Mesa, AZ.
Survivors of the immediate family include son Gregory Fraser, granddaughter Jenny and spouse Patrick Sterns of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Loghan, Ransom and Landon Gregg Sterns of Lincoln; former daughter-in-law, Terri Fraser of Lincoln, brother and spouse, Russell and Dora Fraser, sisters, Pauline Gaskell, and Norma and Ross Gavette of Scottsdale, Ariz., sister in law Elnora Whitney of Scottsdale, Ariz , Kan.; Jenee Gavette of San Francisco, Calif., Linda and Dave Latham of St. Louis, Mo., Janet and Ken Schmidt of Kansas, and Carolyn Fraser of Phoenix, a nephew, Wynn Winkler of Las Cruces, N.M.; nieces and spouses, Myra and Travis Sabine of San Antonio, Texas.
