ACTON - Stanley Jowett Sr., 66, of 34th Street, Mousam Lake, died Monday at H.D. Goodall Hospital, Sanford, following a long illness.

He was born in Sanford, August 7, 1921, son of Ruben and Ruth Jowett, and graduated from Sanford High School.

Mr. Jowett worked for Williams Oil Co., Sanford, for several years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the AARP Chapter and National Rifle Association.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille Binette Jowett of Acton; a son, Stanley (Skip) Jowett of Sanford; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Sandra) Allaire of Springvale; his mother of Sanford; a brother, Arthur Jowett of Lebanon; four grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Sanford Funeral Home, 145 Main St., Sanford, with the Rev. Bryan Jessup of the Sanford Unitarian Church officiating.

Interment is to be in Oakdale Cemetery, Sanford.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
