Minerva Ann (Annie) Hall Hodges was the daughter of Zylpha Jane Pike and Jabez Hickman Hall. She was named for her Aunt Minerva Ann Hall Smith. The spelling of her father's name is from the John A. Hall family Bible.

Annie's widowed mother Zylpha Jane Hall married James George Hodges in 1874. Five years later, on on 3 July 1879, in Grayson County, Texas, Annie married her step-brother, Jesse Harmon Hodges (son of James George Hodges and first wife Margarett Hodges.

Annie and Jesse had five children:
Gertrude "Gertie" Agnes who married Otho Lafayette Hale, Alexander, John Hugh, Jimmie Jane who married James Thomas King, and Mattie Beatrice who married Robert Daffern.
Annie Hodges died about three months after the birth of her son, Jesse App, who was born 19 Aug 1893.

Some family records have Annie dying in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. Other records say she died in Texas.

Annie is buried as M. A. Hodges at Berry Cemetery near Gordonville, Grayson County, Texas.
