Gottleib Herman Sebenniecher (sic) was born April 20, 1858 at Ricketsburg, New York, and passed away at his home west of Gilead, Dec. 8, 1927, at the age of 69 years 7 months and 18 days.
He came with his parents to Nebraska and was confirmed at Williamsville, Nebr., April 1873, and was united in marriage Feb. 12 1882 to Miss Anna Elizabeth Bauer at Falls City, Nebr. To this union were born 16 children, three dying in infancy.
In 1889 they moved to Jefferson Co. where they lived several years, then he purchased the John Guse farm west of Gilead where he resided till his death Thursday. His death was caused by cancer of the stomach from which he had suffered the past summer.
Those left to mourn are his beloved wife, 3 sons, William Sebenneicher (sic) of Deshler, John and Ernest Sebenneicher (sic) of Gilead, and 10 daughters, Mrs. Frank Meyers and Mrs. Albert Kraft of Deshler, Mrs. David Froschheiser, Mrs. Adolph Naiman, Mrs. Lewis Ude of Gilead, Mrs. William Woelfe (sic) of McCook, Mrs. Ed Straused, Mrs. Charles Strause and Mrs. Bertha Strause of Falls City, Nebr., and Miss Augusta Sebeneicher (sic) of Lincoln, a brother Henry Sebennicher of Corinda, Iowa, 2 sisters, Mrs. Julis Bohr of Salem, North Dakota and William Wiedenhaft of Fairbury, 25 grand children and 1 great-grand child.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home and the Lutheran church west of Gladstone. Rev. Bangert pastor of the church officiating. The remains were laied (sic) to rest in the Lutheran cemetery west of Gladstone.
All of his children were present at the funeral also his sister, Mrs. William Wiedenhaft of Fairbury.
