Miss Anna Elizabeth Bauer was born in McHenry county, Illinois, March 15, 1862 and passed away Jan. 16, 1937. She was baptized in McHenry county, Illinois and after instructions in the Word of God she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Fall (sic) City, Nebr. On Feb. 12, 1883 she was united in marriage to Gottleib Herman Siebenneicher at Fall (sic) City, Nebr. To this union were born 16 children, 4 sons and 12 daughters of which 3 passed away in infancy In 1889 the family moved to Jefferson county, Nebr., where they lived several years. From Jefferson county they moved onto a farm west of Gilead where they resided until the death of her husband in 1927, after which she made her home with her children, spending most of her time with her son Ernest and wife west of Gilead. The last two weeks she spent with her daughter Mrs. Froschheiser near Belvidere where she suddenly became sick Friday nite and passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 1 day.
She leaves to mourn her departure three sons, William of Deshler, John and Ernest of Gilead, 10 daughters, Mrs. Louise Meyers of Deshler, Mrs. Strausse, Falls City; Mrs. Minnie Froshheiser, Belvidere; Mrs. Bertha Strause, Fall (sic) city; Mrs. Hulda Thomas, Rulo, Nebr.; Mrs. August Roehrkasse, Lincoln; Mrs. Amelia Wolfe, Bittendorf, Ia.; Mrs. Clara Ude, Gladstone; Mrs. Christina (sic) Naiman and Mrs. Carrie Kraft of Gilead; one brother Hans Bauer, Chester, Nebr.; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Gebhard and Mrs. Eliza Meinheit, Falls City, Neb., and Mrs. Bettie Pierce, Springfield, Ill., 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Ernest Siebenneicher home and the Lutheran church east of Gilead with Rev. Martin pastor of the church in charge. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Those that came from a distance to attend the funeral are, Mrs. Ida Bruner, Mrs. Caroline Krenzel, Mrs. Chas. Gebhard, Mrs. Henry Meinheit, Mr. and Mrs. John Gerdes, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Zentues all of Fall (sic) City, Mrs. Ben Friedly, Ben Jorn and John Gebhard of Verdon, Mrs Albert Bauer, Lincoln, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Franks (sic) and Hans Bauer of Chester. The children were also all present.
