She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches, Texas where she was active in the ladies circles. Elsie served as president of Pilot Club of Nacogdoches, Inc., 1980-1981, where she instituted the Lifeline program with the club. Her husband,Willard Bay, preceded her in death on May 13, 2006.
In 1936, Elsie and Willard established the first Tom¹s Peanut distributorship in Nacogdoches County.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel Willard Bay and wife Gloria, and John Michael Bay of Nacogdoches, Texas; granddaughter, Adrienne Elizabeth Bay of Austin, Texas; nephew and niece Elvin and Dorothy Praytor of Pasadena, Texas; Judy Cook of Diboll, Texas; sister-in-law, Jeanette Bay of Houston, Texas; nephews and nieces, Bob and Annette Payne of Katy, Texas, Bill and Carol Bay of Houston, Texas and many special great nephews and nieces and host of dear friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with Dr. Bill Gandin, Senior Minister First United Methodist, officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
