Cyrus relocated from Kansas to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where his Father and Mother were already
living. He worked as a telegraph operator. In 1902, he
was appointed Deputy Sheriff (under his brother, Oliver) and became "Jailer" in El Paso County, Colorado. After that, he began a job as "Clerk" with the Water Department in Colorado Springs in 1908. In 1924, he was promoted to "Chief Clerk" and remained in that position until his retirement in 1930. He spent 22 years employed by the El Paso County Water Department. They had no children.
