Those preceding Rev. Shoemaker in death are his parents, Monroe and Bessie (Gadd) Shoemaker; two sisters, Roberta Burroughs and Dorothy Evelyn Sanders; and his wife Dorothy May Edwards Shoemaker.

Rev. Shoemaker is survived by a daughter and son: Karen of Visalia and Steven of Morro Bay; brother and sister: Ralph Monroe Shoemaker of Shelby Township, Michigan, and Reba Canuteson of Texas; five grandchildren: Crystal Vander Tuig of Tulare, Melanie Kottage, Joyce, Amanda and Michael Shoemaker of Visalia; and three great-grandsons: Matthew and Joshua Vander Tuig of Tulare and Chase Kottage of Visalia.

Rev. Shoemaker was a veteran of the Korean War. He served from 1950 to 1954 in the 8455 and 8456 Military Police Company's. He received the call from God to preach the gospel and answered that call in 1963. He evangelized and pastored in Kentucky and Ca. He pastored the Exeter Pentecostal Church of God from 1972 to 1978. He also served as associate pastor in numerous Pentecostal Church of God Churches.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 2-7 p.m. at Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Burial will follow at the Exeter District Cemetery.
