Graveside services for Durward E. Reed, 86, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Ralls Cemetry with Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Durward passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on December 19, 1921 in Anson to the late James Edward and Lillie Mae (Harkey) Reed. On January 28, 1972 he married Evelyne Stroup in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2004.
D. E. moved to the Ralls area in 1922. He was a farmer and a Baptist. He loved to play the old western swing music on the fiddle and hunt.
He is preceded in death by a son Clifford who died in 1990.
Survivors include; a son; Alton Reed of Amarillo, two daughters; Rita Cate of Amarillo and Shirley Reed of Lubbock, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
