Son of Thomas C. and Jemima (Smith) Smith. Married Mary Carpenter on Sept 28, 1865 in Franklin Co., MS.

C.S.A. - Brookhaven Light Artillery (Capt. Hoskin's Battery) - Wyley enlisted 21 July 1861 at Brookhaven, Mississippi. This unit was attached to G.S. Storrs' Battalion of Artillery and was active in the Atlanta Campaign and Hood's Tennessee operations.

Wyley was released from duty at Meridian, Mississippi in the spring of 1865.
