Dorothy Ferrell Moore, age 49, of 3314 Victoria Court, Johnson City, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, February 24th, 1992 at Johnson City Medical Center and Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born in Hawkins County. She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and worked in the bus ministry. She attended school at ETSU and graduated from Butler University. She was employed by Kingsport City School System as a guidance counselor at John Sevier Middle School for over 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Moore, Johnson City; one son, James Riley Moore, Johnson City; parents, James W. and Bobbie Ferrell, Rogersville; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Purkey and Ms. Retha Ferrell, both of Rogersville; one brother, Larry Ferrell, also of Rogersville and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Wednesday evening, February 26th, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, Gray, Tenn., Dr. Gene Lasley and Rev. Gary Seaman officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 27th. At 11 a.m. Highland Cemetery, Rogersville. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport, in charge of arrangements.
