Funeral services for Iva Nell Ballow Scroggins, 74, of Gun Barrel City were held 10 a.m. Monday at Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating.-Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery in Van Zandt County under the direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home of Athens.-Mrs. Scroggins died Friday in an Athens nursing home.-She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Canton, the daughter of the late John William and Lina Mae Tankersley Ballow. She married James F. Scroggins Sr. on March 2, 1950, in Dallas. She worked for several years at LTV Corp. in Grand Prairie. She was co-owner of Nell's Restaurant in Kaufman for 10 years. Mrs. Scroggins was a member of Beacon Church of Christ.-She is survived by her husband, James F. Scroggins of Gun Barrel City; a son, James F. Scroggins Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Bill Hall of Walkersville, Md.; granddaughter, Amanda Gail Hall of Corpus Christi; two grandsons, Billy A. Hall III and David M. Hall, both of Walkersville, Md.; three brothers, Moody Ballow of Bullard, Bedford (Bruce) Ballow of LaRue and Randy Ballow of Ft. Jones, Calif.; four sisters, Opal Brewer of Mabank, Hilda Corley, Pat Austin of Kaufman and Tina Horton of Gun Barrel City; and numerous nieces and nephews.-Special thanks to the Austin family for their caring concern and help.-Pallbearers will be Shelton Green, Wayne Austin, Aubrey Buckner, Frank Schlesinger, Bill Simmons and Moody Ballow.-Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Horton, Jimmy Bullion, Danny Austin, Bedford Ballow and C.W.
