Patra Gail Ballow Austin, 74, of Plano, passed away November 15, 2018 in Plano. She was born July 3, 1944 in Canton to John W. and Lina Mae Tankersley Ballow.
Patra was a member of Mabank Church of Christ. She grew up in East Texas and lived in Kaufman for 45 years. For many years Patra worked at Cooley's Super Market and then at Nell's Restaurant in Kaufman. She enjoyed shopping, going to garage sales and was an amazing cook. Patra loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them. She was recently voted President of the Residence Council at Prestonwood Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Austin is preceded in death by her son, Dale Wayne Austin; her husband, Wayne Austin; and several brothers and sisters.

Patra is survived by one son and his wife, one daughter and her husband, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, three brothers, and two sisters.

Services will be 10 am Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Mabank Church of Christ with Bob Patterson and Danny Austin officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be four men in total.

Family will receive friends 2-4 pm Sunday at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
