Louis Ray Cobb, son of George and Ella Cobb, was born Dec. 16, 1881, at Andalusia, Illinois, and departed from this life at Ida Grove, Iowa, on June 3, 1952. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida County, Iowa.

The family moved to Ida Grove when Ray was only 3 years old, and settled where his father ran various stores and later a dairy business. Ray was educated in the publc schools of Ida Grove, and although he was of a retiring nature, he made many friends.

Following the completion of schooling, he was associated with his father in business for a time and then later was employed by Pilcher's Hardware in their repair shop. He also worked for Ida County and the City of Ida Grove.

On dec. 9, 1924, he was united in marriage with Elma Russell of Ida Grove, and they spent many happy years together.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Elma L. Cobb, three sissters: Estella Beane of College Place, Washington; Blanche Ferris and Georgia Todd of Ida Grove; 7 nieces, and 2 nephews.

Out of town relatives attending his funeral services were Mrs. Harley F. Peterson of Chicago (sister of Mrs. Cobb); Clarence Russell of Capron, Illinois (brother of Mrs Cobb); Earl Knapp, and Mr and Mrs. Ed Woodard of Schaller, Ia.
