CS Army Service, Civil War

Commissioned 2LT, Glovers Guards, Company G, 4th Georgia Regiment, on 25 Apr 1861; resigned Jun 1861. Enlisted in Company F, 10th Regiment, Confederate Volunteer Cavalry, Army of the Tennessee and promoted to 2LT. Wounded at Saltville, Va., through right knee.

After the war he began a hotel business in Monticello. In 1872 he was appointed Postmaster at Monticello, a position he held until his death.

He and Sara had no children.
