Lawrence "Red" Stout, 72 years of age, of Monticello, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday morning, June 25th, 2008, at his home.


Red was born in the Tateville community of Pulaski County, Kentucky on March 29th, 1936, son of the late Ezra and Virce Godsey Stout. Red was retired from Kingsford Charcoal in Burnside, Kentucky, was a member of the Rogers Grove Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.


Red was survived by his loving wife, Alice Foster Stout, whom he married on January 6th, 1984; one son, Thurman Edward Stout; one daughter, Loretta Gossett; four step-daughters, Joy Williams, Jeanie Evans, Patricia Hicks, and Melinda Martin; two step-sons, Mike Williams and Blane Williams; one sister, Ella Mae Davis; four brothers, Junior Stout, Russell Stout, Hobart Stout, and Harlan Stout; two half-brothers, Boyce Baker and Harold Baker; one grandson, Jordan Gossett; ten step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra Stout and Virce Stout; three brothers, George, Charlie and Norman Stout; one half-sister, Pauline Hancock; and one half-brother, Lloyd Baker.


Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 in the Chapel of the Hickey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bell, Bro. Greg Ryan, and Bro. Stanley Tucker officiating.


Burial followed in the Grave Hill Cemetery in Tateville, Kentucky.
