Michael Rivers, the venerable father of Henry and G. P. Rivers, died quite suddenly on Sunday morning. He attended a special mass at the church on Saturday and was, apparently, in his usual health when he went to bed, but during the night he was taken ill, and died about five o'clock. Twelve children were born to this union. Two children died young. The family emigrated from Luxembourg in 1854. They arrived at the Port on New York May 22, 1854 on the ship Vulture.
