Peter Kohner, son of Pierre Kohner and Maria Dondlinger, was born in Bettendorf, Luxembourg. He married Catherina Meyers/Maiers Feb, 10, 1834 also in Bettendorf. There 6 children were born. In June 1847 the family emigrated and arrived at the Port of Boston. They settled first in Granville, Wisconsin where 3 more children were born. Peter signed his Letter of Intent to become a Citizen of the United States April 10, 1885 in the Territory of Wisconsin, Milwaukee County. He became a citizen March 8, 1856. Eventually they traveled on to Winona County, Minnesota where he died in 1885 at the age of 80 years.
